Excessive rattle

1991 22re. If the engine is running and you rev it up real quick and let off you hear an excessive rattling noise and also if you hold the throttle steady at any rpm. While driving and holding throttle steady above 60mph the rattle/chatter really gets on my nerves. If I am accelerating faster their is just normal engine noise, but if you ease off the throttle it comes back. Engine only has a couple thousand miles on new top end and piston rings. Valves are adjusted properly. Anyone have any ideas on this noise?

Why don't you go shake down everything on your truck before pulling apart the engine? For all you know it could be the bottlejack behind your seat..

Yeah, I agree. I've had coins in the ashtray and loose stuff in the glove compartment do that to me many times.
