Why not the 18 WX ST II Mobile CB which is about the same size? Why the Uniden 520XL? Did you install the PA? Going to do a write-up? What did you pay for that sucker, new or used? Sorry, I was going for 20 questions but only got this far!

Used the Uniden b/c I had it on hand and didn't want to buy another CB. Had the Uniden originally installed on the dash under the ignition, so I bought it for size. I like the unit still so I used it. I bought it new from a local shop last year for about $110 incl. tax, so a little high but not too bad. Didn't take any pix when I did the install, and Circuit City did the Alpine install, so they left the bottom slot open and gave me a plastic panel for the CB to fit through. I wired it to the power plugs so it turns off with the ignition, and attached it to the bottom of the Alpine with double-stick foam tape. Works great and is much better than any other install I've done so far.

Its the CDM-9801, on sale at Circuit City for $159 including install. Here's a link:

I like the unit, but am going to look for the adapter so I can hook up the diversity antenna as well as the main antenna.
