what am i missing on my 22RTE? Pics inside

Marked in RED looks like a bracket to where something mounts up to. some kind of vacuum valve??

Marked in YELLOW is what i think is the VSV (vacuum switching valve)

1987 SR5 turbo
im pretty sure this has been talked about before, trust me if i knew what goes in the bracket then i wouldnt be posting up pictures

thanks,
Steven

I would guess that the round yellow electrical plug under the vacuum hose should be clipped into the holder circled in red.

The part circled in yellow is a vacuum switching valve (VSV)

myyota is right, just clip that yellowish plug into the clip.

No, that plug is for the 02 sensor.

There was definitely some sort of vacuum-valve-type-thing in that bracket. But, I have NO idea what it did, or where exactly it was connected.

Here's an old picture of my 4Runner's engine bay when it was still 22RTE:

I'll dig through my hard-drive and see if I can find the original, and maybe blow up that part of it.

myyota and re-re, wire doesnt stretch far enough to mount in there and it doesnt look like the wiring has been tampered/repaired before.

Numbchux,

ive been trying to look at numerous vaccuum diagrams in different countries and states (canada, california), but have no luck with this..

BUMP for more thoughts on this...

I found the original picture.....didn't help....

here's a pic once it was swapped to the 22RE. I used all the same sensors and such, so it's still there:

That was with a better camera, so I was able to crop it down on there, looks like it was hooked up to those steel vacuum lines that ran up to the throttle-body. IIRC there were extra vacuum ports there for the 22RTE than the 22RE.

With that in mind, I took a look through my Haynes manual. it actually has a decent vacuum diagram in the emissions section. It refers to that as a VCV, between the TB and BVSV. I'll see if I can get my scanner working and share that diagram.

Don't just swap the plugs cause you need one vsv for the A/C Actuator and the other for emissions.

the thing circled in yellow is your ac idle up switch. its has vacuum to it and when you turn the ac on, it idels up the truck so it doesnt die.

as for the red circle. let me go take a picture of my truck, but it is another vacuum valve, but this one is for EGR
