Exclamation 99 2wd conversion with 96 4wd parts, Possible cheap parts

I have a friend who has a 96 4wd Limited 4runner " Both are 3.4 L" that he might part out. I would like to look at doing a conversion since i can probably get the parts dirt cheap and i would do the salvaging myself. I have a 99 limited 4runner. Would the front diff, transmission and transfer case swap easily. Most all the write ups i read include parts from tacos and other things. The only thing i think might make a difference is that the donor 4runner is a 3rd gen and mine is the 3.5gen with the interior and bumper changes. I know the transmission crossmember would have to be moved. I would also like to grab his rear axel with the elocker as well.

Any help would be appreciated

Don't tell me to sell my 4runner, i love it too much.

Does this even sound like a good deal? Should i buy all the parts and hold on to them for a conversion at a later date. I feel like this is the most ideal situation.

My plan would be to get the transfer case front axel and rear axel with cv boots and drive shaft and whatever else i may need. Does anyone have a full list if you are staying within the same Generation?
