88 yota not running right

He guys im new to the site , hope yall can help me out with a problem. Let me first say that this is my first EFI toyota i've always had carb's so im not up on all the electronics on this truck. I've got a 88 22re that i rebuilt the motor in and when i first cranked it up it fired right up and will run good for a few minutes (2-3) and after that it starts sputtering and will cut off, almost sounds like it is starved of gas. It seems like when the cold start injector cuts off it starts running bad, i don't know how long the injector runs when first cranked up?.... I don't know if it is the fuel pump or what, hope this makes sense to yall. Thanks

What is your idle speed set at? What exactly is it doing after the initial 2-3 minutes? Is it surging?

Have you shorted out your diagnostic termials (T and E1) to check for codes?

Changed out the fuel filter yet? Easy, well with small hands, but might be a good place to start.
