83 celica engine in a 87 pickup?

83 celica engine in a 87 pickup?
First of all hello to everyone this is my first post, but i have been using this site as a research tool for quite a while.
I have a 87 pick up with a carbed 22r, I threw a rod on number 2, out the side of the block, water doesn't compress very well apparently.
While looking for an engine i found a 83 celica with efi and was wondering if it would be simple to swap the efi engine to carb and if i could do it with the parts off my blown 87 22r?
Or would it be more worth while to swap my truck to efi?
