Tallest tire for a stock height '85??

I'm looking to get new/newer tires & would like to upgrade to 31x10.50's,32x11.50's or so...Will these sizes go under a stock '85 solid axle truck w/o rubbing,or might I even be able to get away with a 33'' tire??Thanks,Sleepr71.

31" tire is the max I'd go with for a stock 85.

read up on here a bit. 33x10.50s fit on stock backspaced wheels with minimal rubbage. you fit 37s if you wana cut a little

I had 31x10.5 on my stock '85. There was some minor rubbing under certain conditions. I would not go larger than 31.

My 84 has 33x10.5 km2 on it. It's at stock height. Does not rub.

BUT:

I did relocate the front axle forwards 35mm and modified the steering linkage and torque arm to match. I also massaged the pinchweld at the kickpanel. Stock springs and shocks.

86tuning , you got any more pics/info on that green 4Runner? It looks like my 86 that came from Canada.
