Spongy brakes

I have a 85 4runner. I bought it with a brake issue and thought it would be an easy fix. I deemed the front right caliper bad when I couldent compress it to bet the brake pad off. I changed both front calipers and bled them, not touching the back.
The brakes were still spongy though so today I pulled all 4 wheels and did a full bleed. the brakes are much more firm now but the pedal still slowly sinks to the floor when I hold it down. I have run a full bottle of fluid from the resivour to all four wheels and dont really know what else I can do..?

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance..!

If the pedal is slowly sinking to the floor its probably a bad master cylinder. Might as well jump for a 1" bore MC from the newer trucks.

that or you have a leak somewhere in your system. do you go through any fluid over any period of time? if you do look for any wet/oily spots around your lines, calipers, and rear drums.

and if your not loosing fluid then i'd also agree with the master cylinder one is done.

NicCantDecide whats the advantage of the smaller cylinder? i just replaced mine with a napa replacement recently and i keep hearing about it. do you have one? if so do you like it?

^^ the 1" is larger then the stock, gives more power to the brakes

I unbolted the lil support on the lines right there and cant seem to find any holes or cracks in those brake lines, we cleaned it up and cant make anything leak out there.
So now Im concerned WTF has been spraying around. when I bought it I drove it right to the shop and had all four gear oil boxed lubed with the rest of the tuneup crap and now im wondering if this oil is coming from my diff.? I was not happy to see this..

Does it bolt right onto the original booster
im looking and dont find one online :/

why does your brake line look pinched? and if its leaking out the diff you'll see a trail of oil coming from it. and it looks like your pinion seal isn't leaking. kinda looks like something leaks on your drive line then your drive line slings it.

take some brake clean. clean the area the best you can. wipe it dry make sure she's spotless. take that sucker for a good test drive. stomp on your brakes and make them bleed down. then look underneath it and see where the oil is coming from.

if your refering to the bottom of the pic the lines might appear to be kinked in this pic but they aren't.
I will take ur advice and bust out the power washer and see what I find. thanks for the help..!

mine looks like that around the transfer case output seal. But it's not the seal, it was from the P.O. over greasing the u-joints and flinging the excess grease.

Not that yours will be the same just throwing that out there. Notice how your u-joint is a little "shiny".

How do your rear wheel cylinders look? The seals in them may be shot causing your symptoms.

While I was under there I thought the same, maybe just my u-joints. It just seems a little wet to actually be just greese? or maybe gear oil? Im such a novice mechanic though I really dont even know the diff. Maybe the greese broke down in viscosity a bit when it was hot?
I dunno. I wish I knew more about these things. I sure do appreciate you guys taking a min to help me through this. you guys rock..!
