Hey Mikey--

Long time no hear. Can't make it this Sunday. Looks like I am out until after all this holiday madness. I may be up for a short run, Rob knows of a place in Blossom Valley, and there is always Carveacre.

Sorry Mikey, there's gonna be 3-5" of fresh snow in Big bear, this sun.
I'm definitely down for carvacre most any day, the place in blossom valley isn't worth your drive. We just go cause it's close to us.
I was thinking about the superstition trip too, but isn't it closer to easter? My buddy from work was planning on going and told me about it.
Lately, You have to plan something a week or more in advance for any of the other guys on here to be able to go. Even then it was just me and marc and my buddies last time we hit carvacre.
Let me know if you want to hit carvacre anytime soon.

So far I don't have any plans that weekend, unless there's a nice dump of snow. Maybe we can get a few more people to go too.
Did you get rained on today?

Hey there,

After my truck gets out of the shop I was thinking of heading out to Borego to do the Mortero Wash trail, check out Chorizo Gorge and the old train tressles. I'm itching to get out again soon, dont really mind where, just want to get out on the trails and meet you guys.

The lower Coyote canyon trail was also very fun. It has a little bit of everything: deep sand wash, water crossing, rocky climb then a little bit of high speed two track to the campsite at the end. You could also go hiking at the end near the campsite, there are a few trails around. Scott, Carsten and I ran this trail a week before the big get together in Ocotillo and it was really fun. The trail is NW of Borrego springs and that christmas circle thing in the middle of town.
I'm not sure where the mortero wash trail is, I'll have to look at the map. I'm down for either one.

I am confused now. Are you guys going out this Sunday or the 28th. I can't go this Sunday, but I would be up for a day trip on the 28th.

I would like to check out lower coyote canyon or some other areas of Anza Borrego we have not been in yet.

Whatcha think?? The 28th?

Yeah, the 28th will work better for me too. Maybe this is enough advance notice for other people to go.
Marc: I figured out what the clunking sound was: my passenger side A arm bolt was loose and moved up when that side compressed. All good now.

Thanks for the invite RobT2k!

I wont know if I can make it until I get back from vacation on the 27th. I'd love to get out and do something in the truck.

My truck is basically stock, TRD, with the exception of the front end 2" lift. This would be my first trail run so expect novice questions and all that. I do not own a CB, GPS or any of that stuff yet so if that's a no go then I understand.

When I get back from vacation I'll check this thread to see what's up if I can't while on vacation.

Sorry for the possibly maybe answer.

1-The first time we ran this trail, Carsten and I were completely stock, I had VERY bald dunlops and did fine. Your downey/bilsteins are definitely a step ahead.
2-No problem, when we took Carsten, it was his first or second run. We were there for both!
3-Mark just got one a couple of weeks ago, after almost a year of wheelin' with us. I'm not sure if Mikey has one, we can always use the 2 way frs radios. GPS is not neccesary, I still use a huge map of the area. The more the merrier!

we are a super laid back group. if we have to change something so someone can go oh well why not. so the 28th it is i'm going to post a thread with a open invite to the san diego heads. i think a couple of jeeps from my work want to go so we'll see we could have a good group. and dont worry about being a novice i just kind of started wheeling a couple of years ago and that including the time spent trying to make my old wreck of a landcruiser actually get to the desert. so there are quite a few questions i may be asking as well.
