94 toyota pickup radio bezel

The radio bezel on my truck was tore up around the radio when I purchased my truck. I though it was weird because it had the stock tape deck still in it. Anyway I finally got around to ordering one and in my excitement started looking at pictures on google of peoples interiors of their trucks. It seems as though most of the people didn't have a radio deck "properly" (in center of opening with big gaps on top and bottom) installed and it looked kind of rigged. Are the radio bezels in these trucks not quite big enough for decks other than the toyota tape deck??

Depends on how they are installed.

Aftermarket decks and Toyota decks are the exact same width, so you can forgo the bracket supplied with the kits and use OEM brackets. The only thing you can't use is the trim ring, but it sits deep enough in the dash that you don't notice it. Whatever you do, DON'T use the kit they supply to try and fit that thing in the dash. Just use the OEM brackets. It fits perfect.

As for the radio that was in your truck, the PO likely had an aftermarket deck in it and thought they had to use the supplied aftermarket bracket, which means they had the hack the bezel all to heck.
