Hi,
I have a 1994 4runner with a damaged tailgate, I got a cherry tailgate from a 92 that I plan to install. I am trying to figure out if the harness plug from the tailgates are the same. Will the 92 harness plug go right into my 94 ??
The 92 tailgate had the tire mounted on it and has the rectangle backup lights. I have gotten rid of the tire mount.
The 92 doesnt have a liscense plate light, so i would need to install one.
I also need to swap the glass as the 94 has the bronze tint.
Has anyone done this swap ???

It should plug and play. I have parted out several 4runners and if I remember right the plugs were the same from 91 thru 95. If not the parts are easy enough to change out on the gate to put into your new one.

 

thanks, before I tear into it I will try the dealer to see if he can tell if the plugs are the same !!
