85 22re w/t fuel deliviery problem

Hey Folks,

The 85 22RE 4Rrunner that I picked up was missing a few items when I bought it a short while ago.

Missing and now replaced items were:
Transmission
Ignighter/Coil assembly
Alternator
Battery
Female lead for the O2 sensor.

With all installed the motor does crank, has strong spark but no fuel.
I did spray starting fluid into the throttle body and it fired right up.

I pulled the fuel rubber hose from the fuel hard line on the passenger side of engine comparment and it was DRY.

There is 2-3 gallons in the tank. I don't hear the pump when I turn the key - should I?

Fuses are all good.

Aside from pulling the fuel pump, what else should I try to remedy this problem?

Much thanks in advance for any and all advise!
Norm

that site is awesome! i just found out what i needed about my idle not being stable after i dropped in an 84? 22r into my 92 22re truck. i swaped all of my efi stuff to this block and it wasnt doing good lol. however my fuel economy sucked before. (hint #1) then the idle was up and down. im gonna check it. hope it works, and i hope the tps is not expensive haha
