Strange clutch issue

Allo, i'm having quite a strange issue with my clutch. When i press the petal to disengage the clutch it seems to be very soft and not fully disengage till the end of the throw, but it does disengage. If I hold the clutch petal in for more than a quick stop, it will slowly reengage until the engine stalls. After it has reengaged, I have to pump the clutch to get it to disengage again. I checked the fluid level and it was down to half, but I refilled it and have not had any further loss and the problem is still there. Now it has been very cold lately, (0-12 degrees F today) and with the snow I have been using my 4wd more than usual. I doubt that it would affect my clutch, but who knows.
Thanks for any help

Either your clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder are leaking.

Thanks for the reply! I have checked for leaks but at the time I didn't find any. I will check more thoroughly. (Everything was wet so it may have been hard to tell) Any other possibilities you can think of?

If you master and slave turn out to be ok it could be that the fingers on the pressure plate may be smoked. how many miles doe the clutch have on it? it wouldnt slip but it would be a PITA to disengage completly. time for a new clutch.

OK thanks, let's hope that's not the case! According to the PO the clutch has between 15,000-30,000 miles on it, but I have no idea how good of shape it is in cause he rode it hard

You are are not going to see any leaks in most cases, some type of internal seal is failing and letting hydrolic fluid bye pass the piston. So 4X on either master/slave

Ohh and when /if you replace it go for oem stuff i went through 4 doorman master cylinders before i went to toyota.

Turns out my slave cylinder was toast. Couldn't tell when it was wet, but after everything dried out i pumped the clutch petal and it sprayed everywhere Now I just gotta replace it.
