did you guess water bypass hose that's $11.99 at oreilly? do they actaully want me to give my money to some place else, cuz $54 for about 8'' of rubber sounds like rape to me.

 

Trust me...it's worth it. It fits perfect and the rubber is about a 1/4 thick. I went to oreilly's to get that same part a few years ago and what I interrupted (and the FSM) as the by pass hose and what they had in there system as the by pass hose were to completely different things.

I've learned over the years Genuine Toyota Parts are worth the extra money.

 

Get it from an online dealer such as www.toytapartszone.com if you dont have a dealership buddy, its way cheaper

 

well the guy from toyota gave me the part number, so i gave that to oreilly and they found it. oreilly had two bypass hoses in their system and if you don't have the part number, the nuckleheads there won't be able to tell which is which even if you bring in the original part to show them.

 

snobds is right though, orielly's hoses don't compare. I would MAYBE use them for heater hose since they are fairly easy to change, but for any deep hoses just go OE so you don't have to go back and do them anytime soon

 

#1 rule to a DIY'r know right part when given to you, if you go there with old hose in hand and they have two you show then your old hose and they can;t figure it out, you tell them show me both of them and I will look myself, if you can't figure it out, then it's time to hang up you wrenches and drivers lic. because your eyes no longer work.

 

i went there with the part in hand, but when oreilly looked up bypass hose, two came up without pics and they were both non stock. so when i gave them toyota's part # it pulled the exact one up. i'll let you know when it arrives friday

 

so the hose came in today and it's an exact match. thank God! i guess the key is to give them the manufactures part number.
