tire recommendations: Swampers or Nitto's?

Here in the next month or so I'm gonna be getting some tires for my 85 Pickup. Here is my dilemma, 90% of the time this truck is off-highway, its going to be in sand. Problem is, the other 10% is going to be either bottomless marsh or thick, thick red clay. I'm going with either 33 or 35 12.50's so I have the flotation to not break through that top layer getting back to the bay and when I stepped up to 12.50's on my 02 it walks through the sand like nothing. So I need a mud terrain that isn't going to just dig in the sand. Was thinking toyo m/t but they are a bit on the expensive side. The new Nitto Trail Grabber seems to have a pretty flat tread to help with flotation, and I've had no complaints about my 2 previous set of Nitto's. Just say screw it and get some swampers? I know I'm just going to be more unsure of my tire once you guys chime in. Thanks for any help.

I've seen LTBs dig like a gopher in deep snow.

Try http://www.offroaders.com/info/tech-...eading/mud.htm this site helped me decide.

Not sure where you're from, but I live in florida and can definitely relate to the soft, bottomless sugar sand.

When it comes to off road, I don't care what you go with, it's not going to beat a swamper. The pit bull's seem to have a pretty good reputation, but the swamper will be your friend. No matter how thick of what you get in to the swampers will NOT clog up. I had a set of TSL radials in the 33x10.50 flavor, and in mud i absolutely LOVED them. The only reason I got rid of them was because of the 10.50 factor. My 4runner is just too heavy to go through sugar sand with a 10.50" tire. I traded for a set of 33x12.50 pro comp mud terrains, and am very satisfied with the pro comps as well. They do very, very well. Better in the sugar sand, simply because of the wide foot print. But in the mud they can't hold a candle to the swampers. Absolutely no comparison what so ever. Swamper hands down. But in the sand, the pro comps to significantly better (due to a 4000 plus pound truck, wider is better).

The only upgrade from a 33x12.50 TSL I could see, and personally my next tire will be a 33x13.50 LTB, or a 33x14.00 bogger. no question about it.
