Question 89-95 aftermarket bumper on my 88 pickup??

Does anyone have an idea as to how well this bumper would fit my 88 since its made for an 89-95 pickup? Im ready do pull the trigger and order one but need to make sure its going to fit my truck and not look out of place! Though it cant be worse than my bent stock rear bumper

Should be an exact fit. There's no differences in the tailgate, frame, or body dimensions where the rear bumper sits, between 84-88 and 89-95 pickups. The body panels for the cabs are just superficially different on the 89-95 trucks. Cabs, extended or regular, are totally interchangeable between those years though. And other than the fact that the overall length of the beds is longer, due to the longer wheelbases on the ex.cab and long bed models after 88, the beds and tailgates mostly just look slightly different. But I can't see how that would make any difference in bumper fitment.

Who makes it? Or are you just assuming because it's on a 3rd gen that it's specifically made for one?

Here's my 88 long bed.

Looks pretty much the same to me. Different style tailgate is mostly all I can see. And the curves near the bottoms/tops of the taillights. 3" body lift isn't even very apparent on mine because the bumper was raised about that much too.

as mudhippy stated they will fit with little to no modification. I can vouch for this as well due to me checking on it regarding my 90 that burned up and thinking i might swap my allpro bumper onto the 84 when i get it. My toyota guy assured me if i wanted to do so that it is very possible and would be an easy fit. He did say on the other hand that the front is where people run into trouble. Not that it can't be done but does take some fabbing.

Its one of Kyles from a fellow member Curleysracecars, I just ordered one without the hitch in the center.... I like the look of a plate bumper compared to a tube and have been looking for one for a while to replace my stock 88 chrome one that is a little bent... Im going to have to cut my fiberglass bed to clear the mounting arms but it should be good to go... Im also going to order a set of LED license plate bolt / lights like these to use with it.

Oooh! Those are pretty nifty! Now I want some!

Been pulled over for the "no license plate light" BS? Me too, a couple times(sort of). Once for it being burned out. And, strangely enough, once for it being "too bright". Really?! Didn't realize it could be. Maybe so...whatever.

The led lic. Plate bolts work pretty good but the quality is a touch on the cheap side but like I said work pretty good.
