Spare Tire fitment question

Will a 33" tire fit in the stock spare tire location on a 89-95 pickup truck or is it too large a diameter?

I'd like to know if anyone has carried their spare tire there. Don't want to spend the money on a new spare tire winch if I don't have to.

i did once, why not take one of your existing 33's off and try it before you buy a spare?
a 9.50 won't hang down as much as a 12.50

I carry a 285/75-16 (equivalent to 32.8") as a spare for my 33" toyos under my 90 DLX pickup with no problems.

thanks for the responses guys. (I don't have 33's on the truck yet or I would have stuffed one under there)

It sounds like I am good to go. I may get a 33x9.50 spare just to keep it from hanging down so far.

Sounds like a good plan! What are you getting for tires.
