Wow, I think we should make a 4Roc skin/wheel'n trip up to boone. The conditions were amazing. There are tons of trails up on west bowl and having low traction is always a plus! A buddy and I met up with chris today, but we didn't get to do too much wheel'n b/c I didn't know exactly how to get there and ended up on top of beach mtn. The views were amazing and all the roads were ice covered in snow and were quite fun to play around on but I'm pissed I missed going around with someone that knew where he was going. I'm SO PISSED I forgot my camera. The views were amazing. We have to do that again this winter. My buddy snapped some pics with his phone camera and I'll post them when he gets them uploaded. On our way out we decided to have an extreme sledding round. Awesome road for Xtreme sledding! We even ran into some guys that were out drinking/wheeling in an amigo and gave them a whirl. The guy only had a fleece on and he was WHITE when we were done... priceless... anyway. I think we should have a ski/wheel'n meet. Whos up for it??

 

I am...... I even have the house 1 mil from the slopes and 1/2 mile from the west bowl.... Figure out a weekend. The house sleeps 20.....

Schweeeeeeeet. We should either do it this comming weekend or after christmas b/c of ski traffic. Plus the ASU 4x4 croud won't be mess'n up the snow in the bowl . Not to mention that i'll be going out of town on the 19th Do you have a garage at the mtn house Chris? It was nice meeting you this weekend and I again appologise for my lack of navigation skills Not that it was well marked or anything... but still. My bad. I'll get the pics up asap.

If you go under the chair lift you end up in an area called the Land of Oz. It is an old run down 1970s amusment park at the very top. It has a yellow brick road that goes through different scenes of the movie including her old house at the end. The veiws are spectacular of Roan Mountain (TN) and Mount Rodgers (VA). Unfourtunently it is privately owned, and is only opened one day a year to the public, but the gate is usually unlocked if you want to check it out.
I can usually make it to the high country any time so let me know when you want to go. There are plenty of chicks I can introduce you guys to. Also there are more trails (bike trails) from the Oz road, but are private and somtimes blocked off.

 

Thats where we were!
I almost drove up to the slope to ask where the bowl was. We went around the circle... it was all snow packed. A 2wd would NOT have made it. I saw the little hot air baloon thing, my friend and I didn't really know what to think about that. We were like... hmmmm ok?? But thats cool. When are we going up?

 

im down for it anytime really, ill be going home this coming wkend so i guess that wouldnt work to well. you guys decide and ill let yall know if i can make it or not.

It will have to be some time in January. The house is full every weekend in Dec because of Christmas. I will see what dates will work and post them here.
