PIAA fogs on two pin toggle?

PO of my 4runner installed PIAA fogs with the cheesy plastic button for on/off. I want to change the switch to an on/off toggle but I'm not sure if I need to add anything inline or if I can just take two of the three (w,b,r) wires and hook them up the the two pin toggle I have. I did an hour or so of searching and all I found was how to hook up to toyota style rocker switches. If I missed something someplace or someone has done this I would love to see it.

Thanks again for everyone's patience.

that's funny my fog lights only have two wires. Is that third wire for a lighted switch maybe?

Yeah, I forgot to say the button has a red/green LED in it. If I can figure out the wiring I could relocate the LED to the panel next to the toggle switch..

so the red light is on all the time and the green light comes on when the fogs are on? Does the red light go out when the fogs are on? just trying to get an idea so I can help you wire it up.

Light is green all the time and turns red when lights are on.

you can use a Single Pole, Double Throw = SPDT ON/ON toggle swith, one that does not have a center off which is ON/OFF/ON. This switch has two positions not 3. both are technically on which is needed to retain the two lights.

The diagram for the switch would look like this:

Should be a direct plug in to what you have now

I'm uploading pictures of what the button looks like taken apart. I guess I'll just poke wires at stuff till they come on!

whoa not exactly what I was expecting, lol, let me study this for a bit. lol. You might be better off just getting rid of that altogether and just using a separate indicator light and toggle.

that third wire in that switch really is not needed, it's only there to light up the green LED. Only a matter of finding which one. My best guess is the white one.

ok, I got it to work. The only combo of wires to points that would bring the lights on was red and white on one point and black on the other. Thanks for your help and I hope this isn't going to blow anything up.
