Well i finally decided on a toytech 2" body lift and it should be here next Thursday but im trying to do the install myself (To cut down on the cost of paying someone else). Can anyone post pics of their bl install? it would be much appreciated.

I used the directions on 4crawler's website:
http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/...ft_HowTo.shtml

Its not hard, I had never done a bl and I did it by myself in my driveway in a couple hours, just remember to get a can of PB blaster and don't smash your finger removing the captive washer like I did. Oh, and loosen the rag joint BEFORE you put the lift on!

Body lifts are a fairly simple straight foward install . If it is a good lift it will have a tech/install sheet with it , just follow it and it will go in easy as pie . I have done many of them on all different trucks and all where easy .

Wish you were closer to Asheville, I'd help you. But don't worry, going by 4crawlers instructions you'll have no problem. It's really not that hard.

my '88 has a 4" lift. Beware of cables and hoses that might wind up too short! My clutch line and speedo cable were a victims. Replaced it with Russells -3 fittings for brakes and bulkhead fitting to go from the hard line off the firewall to the slave clyinder.

Yeah just use 4crawlers instructions, they were the easiest for me to understand. I did it in the middle of winter in my garage without any heat.

Trickiest thing was getting the front bumper off and then back on. Other than that I think everything was cake. I used a floor jack and a whole lot of 2x4

I only had to remove the "clipped on" piece on my lower shroud, but I'm running a 1.5".

But it shouldn't be hard (I think the radiator may even have pre-drilled holes 2" lower) the radiator is only held in by 4 bolts and they are easy to access (I replaced my radiator a few months ago and it was simple to remove)

The steering shaft extension is easy, don't stress at all about that. Took me ~5 minutes for that part. The most time consuming part of the whole install was removing the door jam panels to get to the bolts, so yeah, it was cake. With a 2" BL you'll need to do the radiator drop. You should also keep an eye on your stock airbox because it may crack because it will not line up good with the air tube afterwards.
