AlienXtx's '87 4x4 Build-Up Thread
I picked up this 87' Hilux a few weeks ago, I traded a highschool buddy a Honda Rancher for it.
22r, 5spd with 33" KM's
Here are a few pictures of it when I first picked it up.

here are a few of the surprises I found.

First thing I did was remove the doors, bumper and Flatbed. and also swapped out rims/tires to ease moving this thing around.

Doesn't surprise me:

Looks like my wiring job under my hood so doesn't surprise me:

I'll take em if you don't want em free of coarse.
:

Looks like something left over from 1987:

This is just plain Funny:

What's wrong with that flatbed. Looks better than mine. lol

Oh yeah, nice little project you got there, have fun with it and welcome to Yotatech.

Thanks, the balls are already gone ( a buddy of mine grabbed them up) knowing the guy I got it from the door hasp didnt surprise me at all and the flatbed is way to long and heavy plus the tires hit it when you flex.

I plan on adding some 63" chevys and a BJ spacer for now. Then I'm going to build a flat/tube bed hybrid with a fuel cell and a spare tire holder. After that I will start on the drive trane and work my way through it. The truck runs good right now just smokes a little at full throttle.

Yes, I traded my Buddy from Tacomaoffroad.com the truck for a ARB auto locker/compressor and a 4" RCB drop bracket lift, in dash CB and DVD player and a whole bunch of other stuff. He plans to drop in a VW 1.9 turbo and to a SAS on it with a linked rear.
but in the mean time I get to keep the motor thats in it once he pulls it and I also have another 22r motor that I had picked up that Im also keeping. I will be looking to sell both of the motors for $400 they both run but the one in the truck now smokes a little because the carb runs way to ritch.

sorry for the misunderstanding...lol
I have a 2010 V6 Tacoma double cab 4x4, RCD 4" Lift sitting on 33" KM2's with Avid sliders/lightbar. OME Dakar springs out back Billy shocks on all 4 corners and a soon to be installed lockrite auto locker. Like Rob said the 87 was just a toy (kinda like his 4runner use to be for me..lol) i'm starting to notice a trind were I buy a old truck and mess around with it for a few months then sell it to my friends. I guess one day I will have to hold on to one of them and stop beating the ˟˟˟˟ outta my new truck.
