help picking Clutch and possibly flywheel

As some of you are familiar with my other thread about building my 20r/22r hybrid and the different choices I have thought about, I am in need of some advice for these two items. I am looking at getting a new clutch simply because my engine is out and readily accessible. I am throwing the idea of a flywheel around as well and hope to get some input on these two items.

I have the 20r/22r hybrid in an 84 4runner. I will use it for a dd, heading up to the mountain snowboarding, camping, some offroad/trail use as well, but will mostly be used as a dd and highway travel with myself and a few others in it and gear packed in the back.

I was looking at the lc engineering information on flywheels and it seems the lighter ones are better for acceleration (12 and 16lb) where the heavier ones (30 and 35lbs) are better for towing and hauling heavy loads.

Anyone have any experience in this field and can provide some input on clutches and flywheels?

I use OEM Aisin on all mine. Even got one for my 3.4 swap. I use what I sell.

Is the ceramic worth the extra $$ for something that won't be driven to hell and back, but as a dd mostly and some trails and mountains.

Just get the OEM AISIN and you'll be good to go. I had my flywheel resurfaced locally for about $40 I think. You could also just get a new flywheel from Napa for around $60 I believe.

I had an Exedy, but wound up returning it when I found a better deal on an Aisin OEM. Exedy is supposed to be very good though, thye make factory Honda stuff. Due to this site and other info I have heard, I will always choose Aisin and/or factory Toyota OEM parts if I can.

I also baught a new flywheel. I figured for an extra $20 it was just a good idea--hopefully I am right!
