So i finally have my 92 pickup running like it should other then it needs new tires and a new exhaust system. I dont know where to find a complete exhaust system for the truck. I have a 4-1 header that has started to rust and crack the welds and the rest of the exhaust system is in much worse shape. I can't seem to find anything out there that is a stock replacement or requires a lot of fab work. If anyone has a suggestion on where i can buy a new system let me know please

Also I have a set of Pirelli Scorpion AT's the truck is my daily driver and spends 90-95% of the time on the street. These tires were perfect in snow and ice or when i would take it off road. I got them from tirerack.com in 32x11.5R15's but they no longer carry that size. So if anyone knows where to get those tires I'd need to buy them

For such a common truck why is it so hard to get parts for?

You want trouble free, find a stock rig and get its exhaust manni... But the pipes IMO, will corrode just the same as any other pipes from any other manufacturer...

autozone has replacement exhausts, although it might be better/cheaper?? to go aftermarket route like the above mentioned pacesetter.

 

Anchorage Alaska, not sure what they use on the roads up there, but I am pretty dang sure they see alot of snow.

my pacesetter is pretty old..and it's still in good shape lmao..really dirty..but it doesn't leak

just take the truck to an Exhaust shop...tell him you want a stock replacement muffler and whatever size exhaust you want. (2.25 is a nice upgrade)..it ran me $150 for that and a turbo muffler down here in Oklahoma...idk about up there.

if you want to prevent rust...get all the pipe cut by him and made to fit...then paint the pipe yourself with some VHT paint. then take it back to him and have him weld it up..then paint the welds as well.

 

Summit Racing has OEM exhaust manifolds for $94.00, universal cats for $69.00 and everything else you need to take it back pretty much stock at a reasonable price.

I would stay away from headers unless you are going to go with one of the high dollar ones. Other wise you will always have problems keeping it from leaking, and rusting out.

Add on top of that the fact that the factory manifold is just as free flowing as a header.

^^agreed, i've said in a number of other threads that headers aren't worth it in the 22re i still run the stock mani, original cat and trash can muff. i figure with upgraded exhaust it would add like 3-5 BHP??? not worth it, better off re-gearing for the torque increase, and depending on tire size, fuel economy.

plus i would hate sounding like a 16 yr old with his first honda pumpin exhaust out of a yuban can.

I came from the import racing scene and Pacesetter was kind of a joke brand. Right up there with OBX and the other ebay brands. The welds were horrible a you could see the pinches in the bends. That was a few years ago so maybe they got better since.

As for tires, I found the Pirelli's in 31x10.5 and i currently have 32x11.5 is there going to be a noticeable increase in drivability? and if not what other tires would you suggest in 32x11.5 or the metric equivalent that can handle the snow and ice?
