PA Horn Mounting Ideas

New Toy... Yes, It's Big... Yes, It's Loud... ( No exaggeration on both of those ) But where to mount it? Its 5x8 inches. I was thinking of mounting it on my CB radio tab on my front bumper but it would look kinda dorky with a huge horn on the front. So now i'm considering mounting it behind the bumper, to the right of the passenger side blinker ( yes it fits, but barely. ) But I figured I'd get some more ideas... Honestly, I wish I had a roof basket to mount this sucker to.

I wanted to mount it behind the front bumper. but the only place it fits is where the winch goes... I tried this last night... even next to the blinker... so maybe now i'll just wait to get a roof rack and mount it up there

holy begeezus. that thing is huge.

hmmm that didn't sound right.

Do you really need it that big? This is one of those cases I think size does not matter.

hmmm that didn't sound right either. oh well.

I don't wanna see a video of anything that large as the Girlfriend might get jealous and move to Cali.

Wait that didn't sound right either. I am batting 1,000 here huh?

dont be jealous of my fatty horn. I might hold off on it until i get a roof rack... mounted high, better sound, and not very visable.

I have mine tucked up into the upper left corner of the engine compartment, had to trim the speaker a bit so the hood would close, but it fit, and I don't get any "dork" points!

So do I. Granted, I have a 3rd gen. but there was plenty of room there.

or instead of mounting it facing the front of the truck...you could mount it facing the driver/passenger side..(mount it sideways)

or put it where the Winch goes, for now, because i see no winch in there

I'd rather find a permanent spot for it that way i dont have to move it later theres no way i can fit it under my hood... 3vzs are crowded as is. I'm probably gonna wait to put it on a bajarack with hellas

Just mount it behind your bumper. Mine is there and its plenty loud, but i didnt use my winch location. You should be good though, you wont ever need a winch...

Ok so i have a round one like Ripcord and i have a larger one then urs and i have both under my front bumper tho i have the factory bumper so i know u have less room... I plan to put my larger one on a roof rack but make sure u paint it black bc u will get crap from cops whenever u get pulled over if they see it.

*Side note* these things say they are waterproof but if u leave it on the roof rack or exposed, make sure u plan to cover the opening with some type of shield/guard... i didnt do that to my first one and well after about 4 years of rain and some light puddle run throughs; it has decreased the volume and sporadically doesnt function.

Oh ya and if ur gonna mount it dont make it front forward or to the side... if u want it to be the loudest possible then aim it downward at a slight angle so that the sound waves will bounce off the road and it will be extremely loud. I tested all the mounting methods when i got my first circular PA and all my friends agreed that mounting this way has the best output and ppl can hear u better when ur driving.

I tried putting it behind the bumper its 8x5" in size... if i put it behind the bumper, the front of it is completely covered and barely makes any noise. I was thinking of mounting it in a space beneath the frame... but i'd rather not drill holes into that. I can wait for the roof rack, i guess. it'll be fun up there i'd think it would be much clearer up there.

I was thinking of mounting it behind the fairlead on the roof rack... think that'll be enough protection from water? I cant imagine getting much water up there unless it rains...

Maybe...under the fender tucked away behind the inner fender guard? It looks too big though. I think on top of the roof rack might look pretty sick though, paint it black lol.
