Angry Marlin Crawler bumper bent in half

Went camping this wkend and had to go up an easy 4WD trail with some side obstacles and on one of the side obstacles, I had to reverse and I hit a rock on my rear bumper while reversing. I didn't think anything of it at the time as I have hit the rear bumper harder than that and had no problems. However when I got to camp, this is what I found....

Very dissapointed how easily it bent in...I hope that Marlin Crawler will warranty it or something. I am going to call tomorrow...if they don't, I will most likely be getting....I hate to say it...a Trail Gear bumper...they seem to be a little more beefy and better designed.

Holy crap! I have never seen an MC bumper look like that. I remember a guy posted pics after being rear ended at like 40 mph and the bumper was still intact. This is just insane.

I'm interested in seeing what Marlin has to say about it. Let us know. I'd be surprised if they don't offer to send you a new one.

Yeah man, I could not believe my eyes when I saw this...I won't be very happy with them if they don't do something about it. It just should not bend like that

Holy Crap! Dude, you must of hit that rock hard, I have the same bumper and those mounting plates that go to the frame are 3/8" thick and you tweaked those in like they were nuthin! Did it tweak the ends of your frame any? Be curious to see what MC has to say about it, but from the looks of it I'd say you hit it harder than you think.

MM I think the space to the right and the left of the MC plate should be plated too?

I know, it's beef, and that's why there is no way going <5mph the bumper should bend like this. I have hit this bumper hard before, alot harder than this, I mean I definitely knew I hit it, but never in my mind did I think I would see what I did when I looked at the bumper at camp.

I agree, but it would be even better to do like TG's bumper and have a longer bent tube and support tubes between that as well...I hit it in the bumpers weakest spot apparently...

Holy lightning!

I've LANDED several times, backed into trees/rocks HARD, and had the trucks weight on the corner of mine and the only thing i've hurt is when I was pulled sideways the d-ring mount bent a tid-bit.

That's what I'm saying! My D ring mounts have been bent for some time, but I never expected this to happen...Could it be a defect in the metal?

It doesnt look like any welds broke correct? Marlin has done extensive testing to prove the steel they use is tough stuff. But after seeing this....

there's no way in hell you did that at 5 mph... I'm calling BS on that. I would not warranty this if I were Marlin (or anyone, for that matter)- you hit that thing way harder than admitting.
