Timing Tensioner questions
While tracking down a noise I ordered a new timing set since the previous owner said he didnt replace the tensioner when he rebuilt the motor.
First: Is this considered very worn or not really?

Second: I dont know how these work so is it normal for the air bubbles in the bottom left corner when the tensioner is depressed? I dont have the new one to compare yet and am trying to see if this thing is no good. video...

They are oil pressure tensioned with a spring. It's impossible to tell how worn out it is just by the contact plate.
Replace it, and torque it down to spec. The torque specs arnt very high, I want to say 10 or 12 ft lbs but maybe less. You'll have to double check.

Well they were supposed to actually be here yesterday but engnbldr just told me they nerver shipped. Glad I let them know they weren't here. Stuff happens but it sucks when you have your truck apart on your day off patiently waiting for the ups truck only to find out its not going to come lol.
