Am I loosing my mind? I can't see how the VSV has anything to do with the EGR like I have seen on all the vacuum diagrams on the internet.

I'm still having a problem diagnosing whats going on with my Code 71.

1) EGR works when I hook directly to vacuum
2) EGR Modulator isn't clogged, and seems to be working from following the FSM procedures
3) Checked all VSV's, and are operational.

However, the thermal vacuum valve (TVV) is not mentioned in the FSM at all, and is a main player of the EGR system. How do I check this component? I assume you can measure the vacuum going to the top of the EGR valve, and make sure it shows vacuum only at operating temperature?

Anyways, here is the diagram under my hood, I can't see how a VSV is attached any way




PS... Sorry for all the posts but I still haven't registered this vehicle because it's had a CEL and can't get smogged. I'm sort of in a hurry to get this figured out. :/
