What gears are you running with a 4.3 swap

So i have a 4.3 swap taking place in my 87 4 runner which currently has a 22r with 33'' tires. I just put 4.88 gears in it hoping the would do the trick. It helped, just not enough. So my question is would you leave the 4.88 in it with the 4.3 and a 700r4, or swap the 4.10 back in. The 4.10 are still in the carriers,i used differnt carries for the 4.88, so it would be easy to switch back. My thinking is i could sell the 4.88 and carriers to cover some of the cost of the swap. The truck is a daily driver/ mild offroading, camping truck
Just looking for some opinions before i tear the truck down.

Thanks, Doug

Yeah x3, 4.10s will be the best for what you use it for.

Im planning on 4.10s with 33s and my stock tranny when i do the swap.

I am running 4.30's with 33's and the 4.3/700r4 swap and I like the combo... the 700r4 has a 21% lower 1st gear so it comes of the line good and I run 2200 rpm at 68-70 mph.

I can't see going much lower ...maybe 4.56's ...because it seldom needs to kickdown from overdrive.
if you lived in the mountains where the kickdown was a constant problem 4.88's would be nice!

since your 4.88's are in already finish your swap and if the gears are too deep you can switch them after. Do you plan on ever going to a bigger tire?
I currently run 4.56's with 33's and am finishing my 4.3 cpi swap this weekend hopefully. I plan on stepping up to 35's and have a pair of carriers with 4.10's if my 4.56's are too steep ill switch them out. but im betting 4.56's with 35's will be a good match. your 4.88's will be a little tall for the street but off road will be nice especially when crawling and if you dont have a doubler or lower t-case gears
