Trouble shooting help - kinda swap related

My truck failed to start yesterday. I suspect the COR. I know it isn't related to anything in front of the firewall since I was having an intermittent shutting down issue before my 3.4 swap.

The problem didn't go away when I did my swap so the culprit has to be under the dash or at least behind the firewall.

Anyway it used to just instantly die, no stuttering but would always start right back up. Yesterday was the first time it failed to start. AFAIK all the grounds are good and it's probably electrical since it dies instantly.

I know with my old 3.slow I could jump Fp and E1 to bypass all the fuel circuit relays. Does anyone know if this will still work with the 3.4l in there?

Thanks in advance for any enlightenment you can provide.

hey neo

You can replace the 3.0 COR fairly easily.

Check here.

Did you get it figured out? In answer to your question about the terminals, I think it would depend on whether or not ors set it up that way. when i did my wiring i set it up so that I think I can jump the two terminals, but I haven't tested it yet. They would have had to intentionally do it, and I'm not sure if they do anything other than the essentials. Did they send you a diagram of what they did? You may have to look at ewd's for both years and trace it out in the kick panel.

You could throw a jumper wire between the red and white and blue wires on the COR to test it. The red and white is switched power and the blue is power to the fuel pump. Have you checked your ODB2 for codes yet? It probably won't show anything especially if it is the COR but its always worth a check. My truck had a wire broken inside of the plug for the ignitor that gave me some trouble and scanning the ODB2 told me where to start testing with my ohm meter.

Thanks guys. I switched out my COR with a working one from my friends 4runner and it ran fine so that was a quick and easy way to test it. I've replaced it now and so far so good.
