2 buck shifter seat (tighten shifter)

About 10 years ago I needed a shifter fix, the seat was shot. I was looking around for a way to temp fix it and came across my plumbing parts. In a lightbulb head moment it came to me. I had a 1 1/4 P-trap with a nylon seal for the tailpiece it was just a tiny bit large. After a one minute stop at the bench grinder it fit perfect. Have to make it a little flatter and i sanded it to fit the ball. tightened the shifter up like butter. Won't fix the socket and you can get one from Martin Crawler for 10 bucks plus shipping. But if your wallet is flat it'll do. I put one in my 93 about 5 months ago and checked it today, looksgreat

I used one of those for a temporary fix while waiting for the Marlin Crawler socket. It's about the same material and a similar shape and does the job.
