Replacing My T.P.S
#1
I am the proud owner of a 1991 Toyota 4Runner SR5 that I purchased from the original owner. All the major work has been down within the last 50k miles, i.e. (Head Gasket, Timing Belt) Since purchasing it I have noticed that the truck starts to "buck" at highway speed. Anytime I speed up to 55 mph+ the the RPMs moved up and down from 2500 to 3500. I have to turn Overdrive off in order to stop the "bucking". I have noticed that it will do it in town around 35-45 mph as well. I have flushed the tranny in an effort to solve this problem with no results.
In my research I have found that this could be one symptom of a bad T.P.S. After reading an amazing sticky on the 3VZE motor I noticed that the bad T.P.S could be the culprit behind many other issues I have in regards to power and fuel economy.
Now to the point. I ordered a new T.P.S, plugs, wires, distributor cap, and new belts to be installed this weeked. I am soon moving back to my hometown of Safford, AZ and was wondering if there is anything else that I should consider doing maintenance wise, other than the obvious fluid changes, before making the trip.
Also any tips on installing the T.P.S would be very helpful. I'm fairly mechanically inclined, but when it comes to electronics or timing, I get a little nervous.
Thanks in advance.

I don't mean to step all over 4crawlers feet, but he sent this link to me (just replaced tps on my 92 runner) and it was by far the most in depth and helpful guide I came across. Hope it helps.
