Hey all,

I was reversing out of my driveway recently when all of the sudden my '85 4Runner popped out of gear... now, it won't stay in reverse at all!

I should have paid more attention to the funny almost-wobbly sound the tranny used to make while I was in reverse, but now it seems that problem has worsened. I held up traffic the other day for about 45 seconds trying to reverse out of a pickle... pretty embarrassing.


Anyone have any thoughts on how to fix this? Could it simply be out of alignment? i pulled the shifter out, and the plastic seat is in top shape.
