Tranny, T-Case and Axle leaks!!!
I am in the process of finishing a 4 year restoration of a 1980 longbox 4x4 and over the years of sitting in my garage, the output shaft seals on the transfer case and transmission have started to leak. Are these seals hard to replace? Does the transmission and transfer case need to be taken apart to replace these seals, or is this something I can do after removing the driveshafts? Do you think there is a possiblity that they could just be dry from sitting, and after driving the truck for awhile they may seal again?
I've also noticed that the front axle is leaking twards where the wheel mounts up, on the large round knuckle. I think that this is just a wheel seal, but I am not familiar with solid axle trucks, and don't really have an idea about how difficult this is to repair.
Here is my dilema... the truck is currently a 4 speed, and I would really like to upgrade to a 5 speed, but due to my cash flow problems, and trying to finish the truck to get it on the road, I would like to repair all these leaks without spending a bunch of money. Should I repair the tranny and t-case, or dump more cash into finding a good used set in 5 speed? For the axles does anybody have a good "how to" on how to repair that leak. The truck has a rebuilt 22r in it, so the axle, tranny and t-case are the only things I am worried about. Thanks in advance for anybody that can assist me with my problems!

Nothing you listed is hard to do. I think all or most is covered on yotatech. Removing the cone washers can be tricky if you haven't seen them before.
