truck will not rev high.. i power washed the whole truck/engine and did not cover distirbutor cap or coil, i know that was stupid,truck would not rev high so i checked the cap and it was wet so i dryed out cap , now truck still will not rev above 2000 rpms.after two days of letting the engine dry out.. any suggestions please??

 

Have you pulled the spark plug cables? There might be some water underneath the insulators that is grounding out your spark. I would start pulling connectors that could affect the running, and see if anything else is wet.

Also, have you checked the ignition timing after replacing the cap? If all else fails, throw a timing light on it to check it, and adjust if necessary.
