Suspension Travel/wheel rubbing

Suspension Travel/wheel rubbing
So, I am a new 4runner owner/trail runner and the other day I was out on a trail and I was having issues with my wheels rubbing the inside of the wheel well as I was going over some minor stuff....like there was not enough resistance from the springs to keep the wheel out of the well. I am not sure what the issue is. I talked to some friends and they said there were some type of straps to minimize the travel of the wheel. Like I said I am a newbie to the off road world so I am not that informed about it but I want to be able to use my 4runner to its max. I have a 4" body lift and I was thinking about doing a suspension lift but I dont know if that will remedy my problem or not. What do y'all think?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Whats the specs on the runner? what are you running for tires? 4 inch body lift? are you sure? thats really tall for a body lift.
There are easy ways to get a little more height out of your truck such as Ball joint spacers and LC coils. The SEARCH button is your friend.

your tires are too big. that is your only problem. the fact that your suspension lets your tires stuff all the way into your fender is a good thing. you can cut your fenders to make it clear or you can get aftermarket fender flairs.

Is it rubbing when you are going straight? or is it rubbing when you are turning at full lock? i would think a 4'' body lift would clear 33s easy. I know that the wider tires tend to rub the pinch weld when turning hard.
hope that helps
