Strange Oil Filter leaking problem HELP

Hello
I just replaced the oil in my truck in Florida Saturday to get it ready to go back to Savannah GA. for work. I washed my truck in GA. and noticed oil on the back lower valance panel of truck. I was ssurprised to see the oil splattered all underneath my truck. (Oh Shiet did I leak oil all 320 miles?) I followed oil leak to the point to the filter. I noticed it was loose (I never had one get loose like that on me before. I tightened it with my hand. I started the truck up and it is still leaking oil from the filter on the bottom near the oil sender unit...W.T.F? is going on? Do I have a bad oil filter? Did I put it on wrong? I remenber it being alil hard to put on. Im sure I didnt cross thread it..So, when I rever the engine up its leaking oil out the side...problem with another gasket? Im worried about driving it any suggestions?

Thanks in advance I need a drink

Maybe the old O-ring is still on there and not allowing the new one to seal properly.

Replace the oil filter with new. See what happens.
It happened to my husband's Volvo. The filter gasket blew. New filter fixed the problem.
I'll hope for the same in your case.

I too have had 2 o rings when only one was needed, I'd check that first, then move on.
