Question How much will it cost ...?

I am going in for the 5,000 mile checkup/service tomorrow. WHat all will they do, how long will it take and what will it cost me? Just wondering what to expect?
Thanks,
JL

Dude, you could do all that stuff yourself:

-change oil & filter
-check air pressure
-grease driveline
-check air filter
-check all other fluids

...there can't be much else at only 5K

just call and ask to know what is included in the check, be forward and make sure he lists it all. then make an educated decision base on what you think is best/cost effective. and if you do it yourself you can use nice oil and get to now your new rig a little better. but if there is anything on your mind that worries you and makes youthink there might be some factory quirk you could overlook the let them go at it, even though they might overlook it too

just my thoughts,

Angry Never again!

I couldn't believe it when they handed me a bill for $94.12 for the 5000 mile service. Basically just an oil change and tire rotation. I should have listened to you guys but this is the 1st Toyota I have ever owned and I thought there may have been something special they needed to do. I know you have to take the skid plates off to get tothe oil filter, etc. I won;t make that mistake again!

I et my oil filter off without taking the skid plate off.
Just turn the wheels to the side and go in through the fenderwell.
At least you learned early that the service is easy to do yourself.
Only thing I would pay for is the head gasket (I would do anything else myself).
