Will an 81' 2wd p/u bed fit a 4wd?

I know this questions probably been beat to death but I can't seem to find a clear-cut answer...Will an 81' 2wd p/u bed fit an 81' 4wd. I found one in good shape at a junk yard and before I go spend the money I just wanna make sure. Best info i've seen is that it will fit but fender flares may be different size, some bolts may need to be modified, etc. (however, most info seems to be on 84' and newer tho). Anyone had experience with specifically 1st gen p/u beds? Thanks in advance for any info.

Is there anything that can be done with the flares? Other than that, is the width, depth, height, etc. the same?

lower skirts on the 2WD bed are different .. and also the lip around the wheel well .. you might be able to cut it a bit and hammer and drill to get the 4WD flare on there .. but i`m not positive .. I have never tried to get the 4WD flare on a 2WD bed

Would you spend the money on the bed? (obviously if a 4wd bed can't be found)
Thanks for the info.

I build fiberglass ones.. http://www.toyotafiberglass.com and ship em' world wide . These beds are getting very difficult to find .. so , if you want a bed on your truck , its a good option
