jwenz723's 1990 Pickup Build-Up Thread

Here is the picture of my truck that was posted on the online classifieds when I was searching for my truck. Its a 1990 Ext. Cab DLX, with the 3.Slow.

When I bought it, it was completely stock, with an added Cb radio, pos radio, with a changer in the back, speakers mounted in the door, an 8" sub with fiberglass box built into one of the ext. cab compartments, and a security system. Honestly why the previous owner put a security system on this thing? I don't know...

I bought this in August 2007.

Here is my truck parked at work next to my friends 4runner that he just bought, taken on 09/09/2007.

I got some line x bed liner on my truck in february or 2008 i think it was.

In December 2008 i slid into a pole at work while doing donuts in the snow haha. My front bumper got bent up pretty good, and it broke my blinker lens, so I decided to take off the bumper, go to my friends shop and use his hydralic press to make it flat again, then i used his sand blaster to get the chrome finish rough, sanded it with some 35 grit sand paper, then coated it with herculiner bed liner.

I took the grill off too, because half the clips holding it on were broken so i replaced them.

The new bumper:

Poser shot of my truck by devil's slide. Stopped on my way to my grandpa's cabin.

My friend introduced me to TTORA, and I loved the sticker, so I bought one for $20 i think.

My BFG At's finally got worn out, so I replaced the tires and rims for some 265/75r16 Cooper Discover Stt's with some aluminum eagle rims for $800 off of classifieds.

Built my own bed bar to hold my Asian brand hi-lift jack, reverse lights (so i can see behind me at night with my 5% tint rear windows), and my cb antenna.

CB antenna goes on the middle tab.

My friend took out his 60/40 seat and put in some bucket seats with a center console. I decided i loved it, so I did the same to my truck. I liked the idea, because this way my friends can't sit in the middle seat and make it hard for me to shift. I pulled back the carpet so that i could weld on a nut on the drivers side where the bucket seat bolts in on the front right corner of the seat. The mounting location had the hole for the bolt, but didn't have a nut there, because my 60/40 seat bolt location was 2" to the side on this one bolt.

The new seats, I pulled them out of a 4runner, with a center console for $30. I was planning on getting them reupholstered or some seat covers, but I think I am just going to get new seats actually.
