27 years with this girl. Longer than the wife.

On March 17,1983, I bought my only brand new vehicle I will have for myself. (The Queen gets hers.) I paid get this: $11,748.74 in 1983. Cash down $6,190.90 financing $4,594.60 at an interest rate of 15%. Total payout $13,201.62 after 3 years. (I wish the Queen was 27.)This thing looks better every year, unlike the wife. Now I've been married for 19 years, adding a good 4 for the Queens' "witchcraft". (It starts with W, and has the same amount of letters, but I can't say it here.) That's a total of 23 years, but you can get 20 for murder right?

Thanks for showing, beautiful truck...it's the black package, right?... If it stays in the same condition it'll probably be worth what you paid very soon ...I just restore my '83, best looking truck toyota has ever built..BTW how many miles, doesn't look like its been through to many Jersey winters...

Awesome rig. she is one lucky girl, looks like you treat her well. I wish my 91 looked as nice as your truck.
1989toy4wd - I have the same bday but 87, it must be cool to say your were born the same day as your rig.

That is really a great looking truck. I have mine the same number of years you do. It feels good to be an original owner of a first generation truck and I am glad I am not the only one who takes care of them. I get sad sometimes when I see a first generation truck chopped up; they can never be replaced. I know it is a different generation out there and the same is said about me when I drive my Deuce Coupe street rod or my Custom Merc. I believe the first generation trucks will be like a Deuce, Merc, 40 Ford or 56 Ford pickup as far as classic looks go. Again great truck and I know your having fun with it because I sure do have fun with mine.

Thanks for all the kind words. One of the main reason that this thing is still around is that I used to live near a car wash with high pressure hoses. Keep the crud off, it helps. Second, I avoided the large holes/canyons that the full size trucks with 40"+ tires trenched out back in the day. The last time this thing was off the road could have been 1995. Everybody that used to go, got out. Third, I parked this in 2001, and just last year unbolted everything I could underneath sanded, grinded, and painted . Now it's registered as an antique. No fees, no inspections anymore in "New Germany."
