I am trying to run some 35x12.50.15 Dick Cepek m/t on my 90 4runner. I have a 4inch procomp suspension on it and im putting a 2in coil and 1.5inch ball joint spacer lift i picked up from 4crawler.com. I notice everyone has said you have to have a body lift, cut, or lift it outreagous distance to get 35s to fit. Well i dont want a body lift if i can help it, i am a newbie so cutting is risking it. You think this will be sufficent to run those or will i need to cut some? maybe throw on a one inch body? i have a link to a walkthrough on cutting from one of you guys from a previous thread but it was on a tacoma, looked like i might be able to pull it off if i need to.

 

My 90 4runner rides on 35 x 12.5 with just a Pro Comp Stage II lift and minimal pinch weld trimming so you will be fine with no body lift see

Turn your wheels to full lock left and right and check the pinch weld where the rear of the tire meets the rear of the fender and follow the pinch weld to see how much you will need to cut off , also Pro Comp recommends 3.75 -4.25 back spacing on the rims to clear the upper control arms so if you just bought it with the lift you may want to check the back spacing to be sure they are correct and will clear the uca

 

i have 3.75 backspacing. the pinch welding is where im gunna run into new territory. Ive never cut before.

 

I just used a whiz wheel and it only took 5 mins to do both sides very easy job to do I never did it before till then myself I'm sure you will know or already know what the pinch weld is right? Oh ya you can jack your tires up one at a time and make a stuff like situation so you will know better where to cut the weld also

 

As mentioned above, 35's should fit with just the bracket lift. If you need to cut, here's a step by step:

Yeah i do know what the pinch is luckly my buddy showed me when we lifted it what it was called. i see alot of people mention it and id be clueless if he didnt show me. thats a good idea. think i will stuff it up inside just to make sure.

35s, 2in BL, bj spacers, AAL

 

I was able to get the 2 inch coil spacers and BJ lift added ontop of my procomp lift. Getting the truck alligned right now at the local LesSchwab. Once thats done i will get pictures. 35s fit great under it. Havnt fully checked if it needs cut but doesnt look like the front will. Might get lucky and only have to pound a lil bit.

 

here is my rear end. the front is perfect. More pics on my profile with the 33x12.50 swampers on. But i got the 35s on and here is how the rear looks. Its driving around fine but as you can see if i flex to far im going to run into issues. Small cuts should be all. Proved to be very efficent lift.

After getting the tires back from schwab and the allignment they told me my pitnam, idler and centerlink are all shot for the tune of 444$ bucks. outrageous. So i picked up a new set of arms and centerlink for 165. be here tuesday, so next weekend i should have them on and the allignment done again. ready for the road

Good info to check. So i went to the sticky. Saw just about everyone was coverd. Went to toyota.com/recalls. Guess what. no luck. My vin is not currently part of any special campaign. Guess im still payen for that damn 105$ centerlink and the allignment after. poop. was worth a try. maybe someone already did the recall or somethen, im not the first owner so who knows.

 

anyone by chance know the size of the pitnam arm bolt? its a big mofo and i will have to go pick up that size socket.

 

IIRC, it's a weird size, like 22mm.

Wouldn't be a bad idea to pick up a set - 24mm is needed for the drain/fill plugs, and 30mm for the pinion nuts. Get 6 point sockets.

 

i ran to shucks o reilys today. powerbuilt tools are on sale for 50% off till the 31st. it was a 34mm socket for mine. freaken huge. lucky on sale only cost 8 bucks for that baby. i got a set up to 22mm. roomate carries som 23, 24mm in his set. so just need the random big ones now.

 

Are you dead set on the DC MT's??? IMO the Super Swamper Radial SSR in 35/10.50 flavor is a pretty amazing tire AND can be fit with ZERO lift. Tire width, to some degree, along with Wheel BS is more important then tire HEIGHT. THese trucks have pretty open wheel wells and can fit 33's with NO lift as well as skinny 35's...
