Question cracked dashpot cover

hey i noticed that my dashpot was cracked and was wondering what effect this has on the motor. i couldn't really get a good idea from the FSM on what the dashpot actually does so any insight would be greatly appreciated

It acts as a damper for the throttle return.

You'll be fine.

As above, it is a throttle damper for when you drop the throttle hard, ie, just take your foot off the pedal. It is smog related, it delays the final closing of the throttle plate.

You will be fine.
