No stop leak is going to fix it. Quick gimmicks will end of costing you more in the long run. The only fix is to reseal the timing cover. It is really not that hard and you'll learn a bunch. If your new to this stuff, do some research, get a few tools (sockets, torque wrench) and go for it. Expect to make a day of it.

2WD or 4WD?

Cowboy up... You got a job in front of you... Or sell the truck.

better yet go to the dealer and have them do it

Its not that bad. I just did my first solo timing job on a 22re and a 22r. Follow the FSM and you will be fine. There are tons of great write ups on it. Iamsuperbleeder as well as a few others have great info and pictures on the timing chain.

what year is it? if its a second gen i know there not that hard even a newbie could get it dont in a day. just remeber if you pull that front cover off make sure you losen the oil pan so you dont ruin the oil pan gasket. if you want more info just let me know ive done several. also what ever you do dont over tighten the front cover bolts they strip very easy!!

wait a minute...

Bottom right, if you're looking at it, of the timing cover?

Has anybody worked on it recently?

Could be either missing or need to tighten the bolt that's on the back side of the cover... Just under the WP outlet...
