My 92 is running a 2.5" Cherry bomb and stock cat. My 88' is straight piped all the way back, splitting to two GSXR1000 FMF mufflers.

Cherry bomb, tapped out the cat, quiet unless your revving and you can hear for a couple blocks away at 5500 rpm

I beg to differ. I have the exact same set up as you; gutted cat to a cherry bomb. Its loud and droney and sounds like garbage.

Stock. Can't seem to find any muffler that will satisfy me, everything either sounds to much like ricers, or just sounds like crap. I guess mainly that I'm use to V8s with exhaust, and no muffler on my truck will compare/satisfy.

I have a flowmaster 40 series. It sounds okay but I wish it was quieter. I've outgrown the wanna be loud thing and will probably be putting my exhaust back to as stock and quiet as possible.

14 inch magnaflow. Sounds awesome at idle. Little loud on the highway pushing 3 grand.

I've got a 2.5" tubing going from the headers to a high flow cat, then to an older Flowmaster muffler(I think it's a 40 series, I got it used), but it sounds pretty darn nice. I get compliments all the time about the sound. It's pretty mellow inside though. Sounds deep, but not obnoxious.

Ran a Spindletek on my old '91 longbed, sounded nice and kinda throaty at idle, and mean at around 4500 rpm......but not loud and obnoxious. When I get the funds, I'm going to put 1 on my 4Runner

flowmaster super 44, it is way too loud, i think by now everyone in temecula recognizes my 4runner by the DC sticker, the 6 foot CB whip, and the sound of it coming a block away.
