Taos/Ojo Caliente Area Places to go

I am planning on being in the Taos & Ojo Caliente, NM area after Christmas and am looking for trails to explore with our 2003 4Runner 4x4. Not anything technical, just fun and out there...any suggestions?

Many thanks in advance!

Hey Andro-

There plenty of general sight seeing all through the area, but I'm afraid most of the trails in the mountains around Taos will be closed due to snow cover. I do have a couple of ideas, but I will have to check on access...

What brings you out this way, ski trip to Taos?

Family Meeting

We selected the Taos/Ojo area for a family get together...my brother got married in the small church outside of the Ojo resort and it is a central place for us to meet as I am in Ojai, CA and he is in Colorado...plus he likes the area and I want to get to know it better.

Living in So. CA I tend to forget about the high elevations and snow! Even though there is some light dusting on the mountains around Ojai right now.

Many thanks again for any suggestions! Just steer me in the right direction and I'll follow through.
