Hi everyone- i just have a question about my gas gauge.
It works fine until it gets to halfway and then it just drops to empty. i just bought the truck and i dont know for sure how many miles it gets per tank. Any ideas?

 

It sounds like the sending unit is bad, and the only way to fix it is to replace it. I also need on for my 86 4Runner, but its a dealer only part so its going to be a bit expensive.

 

I would bet that you can go 300 miles on a tank, keep a note on the dash when you need a fill next, so if you filled up at 183700 miles, your note should say , next fill 184000, etc.
