You know to save yourself some of the fabrication you could go to harbor freight and by their hitch mounted bike rack. I know in their add its like $50 which is way too much, but it's always on sale or there are online coupons or something. Maybe you could cut off the top and then make it into what you want. I know that they also have quite a few trailer accesorries so maybe you could get a blank hitch there and start from there. Hope this helps. Here is the bike rack. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=98019

Im intrested in knowing if you ever got that completed or not? If so how is the vibration on trails? did you have to bolt through the tail gate to support the top to avoid it from banging back into the truck or just vibrating alot? looked like a sweet idea and i might try to fabricate one myself.

I kinda ditched the idea for now. I need to carry my spare 33 also, and I dont want to tie it to the roof, so I'm thinking about doing this so I can carry all 3 plus a hi lift:

No problem.. the reason I asked is because I have the same kind you have I think. Do you have much problem with leaking at the cap? Do you have to get them really really tight to get them to seal? I just found some new seals for mine and am getting ready to see if that helps them, because mine did leak. Hopefully not now.

The ones I have are pretty old...at least 40 years. they are in good condition and only one of them leaks, but only when the spout is on it, the actual cap holds up fine. the spout is even older than the can itself i think, so it very well could be the seal. if you bough new seals then you shouldnt have a problem at all...by the way where did you get your seals from??

b4...the 1st pic with the dual jerry can carrier is super easy to make. if you want i can make you one once i get the supplies. then we can finally meet lol

I found that a surplus store kind of close to me had several brand new ones. Needless to say I was excited to finally find some. Are you needing some? I was thinking if enough people wanted them I could pick more up. I know they are not easy to come by and seem to wear out.

Hey so I resorted to having some seals made for these cans. I started looking at the ones from the surplus store and they just aren't all that high quality. These ones I have now are made of a fuel resistant nitrile rubber and they are just a little softer to help them seal against the even surfaces. I had them make quite a few so I can sell you guys some! I am asking only $3 a piece and the shipping which is next to nothing probably like another .75 depending on how may you need and if them will all fit in an envelope, which should fit 4 of them no problem. Please feel free to PM if you would like on or a few or more than a few to have some extras on hand. I am so excited, I just put mine on one of my can and tightened the cap down and even held upside down they didn't leak!
