passenger side power window wont work

my switches on the drivers side are fine but the switch on the passenger side is stuck. should that cause the window to not work on the passenger side? the window wont go down when i press the switch on the drivers side.

At least on the earlier trucks, the two switches wiring run through each other so if the passenger side switch is stuck with open contacts, that will prevent the driver's side switch from working. This is to prevent a short if someone were to press switch up on the passenger side and the driver were to hit down. If the switches were not interlocked, that would connect 12 volts to ground on the passenger side motor.

i unplugged the switch for the passenger side and the window still wont work. im thinking maybe the problem will be solved if i replace the switch. the window still worked when the the switch was busted so im thinking maybe the motor is toast, so tommorow im going to put power to the motor and see if that is broken

As mentioned, the driver's side switch wires pass through the passenger side switch. So unplugging the passenger side switch is basically breaking the circuit from the driver's side switch. Does the same thing as if the passenger side switch is pressed up or down.
