2wd 4runner with ARB airlocker question

Hey guys,
Just a question for ya... I have an 02 Toyota 4runner 2wd...And i was just wondering... what the difference is between not having a locker in the rear axle....and installing the ARB air locker.......Off-road of course..say for instance ...in mud....Just wanted to know how much of a difference it is.

PS- Has anyone even done this with a 2wd SUV?

a locked 2wd with a skilled drive can *just about* go as far as a new driver with open 4wd... because 2 wheels are getting power.

a locker will help alot, but it will not make you truck able to go through everything.

hands down 4wd open/open is a lot better than 2wd locked...... but 2wd locked will get you places....

Probably great, until you stop moving. It really helps to have the front end pulling in soft sand/mud to be able to get moving again. That's not to say that you would definitely get stuck..... but I would only try wheeling with a buddy who has 4x4 and a tow rope/winch just to be sure.
