I have looked and can't find the answer I need. I have an 89 4Runner w/3.0. I installed a set of used lift springs in the back. I think they were suposed to be 4" lift. My question is what do I need to do about my E-brake cable. It appers to be kind of tight now. I have not done a full drop test of the rear end yet, but form looking at it I think I will break the E-brake cable. What to do???? Also what do I need to do to the rear brake adjusting lever??? Sorry if this is long and confuessing. Thanks for your help. Bryan

 

I think you can adjust the e-brake cable but haven't looked at it to be sure. I do know you can adjust the LSPV bracket on top of the axle housing alittle or you can fab up a plate to lift it up a couple of inches.

 

get a set of cables for a long bed pickup.

 

There is a mount on the rear axle for the LPSV.
Make an extension for this mount by getting a piece of flat stock. drill two holes to match the factory mount, and then drill one hole 4" (or how ever much your lift was)
from the upper hole that you drilled.

Up on the frame rail next to the gas tank is a clamp that holds the emergency brake cable to the frame, cut or some how remove this cable clamp and that will allow the emergency brake cable to drop down and give you alot of slack. I did this on my 86 4Runner and i have 16'' of lift and it works well for me.
